Workers Comp Death Benefits Coverage

Workers compensation provides benefits to an employee’s family when a work-related injury turns fatal. Burial expenses are paid by workers comp in an amount that is considered reasonable. Maximum burial benefit amounts are limited by current laws.

Depending upon the circumstances, an employee’s surviving dependents may qualify for ongoing support payments. The amount of money that survivors can receive depends upon how many dependents the employee left behind and whether they are fully or partially dependent. Support payments are generally paid on a similar schedule and in the same amount of a maximum allowable temporary disability benefit payment.
