The Coolest Trucks of 2018

If you’re into trucks, you’re probably already looking into what you can buy in 2018. After all, some of the biggest auto manufacturers will be releasing some impressive new models with features the typical older vehicle doesn’t have yet. And you might be surprised to find that some of the latest cool trucks are not from American brands at all, as more foreign companies have been building impressive trucks lately. So whether you’re ready to buy a new truck in 2018 or are just having fun checking out what’s available next year, here’s what you need to know.

2018 Honda Ridgeline

Honda didn’t release any new Ridgelines for a few years, but 2017 changed that. And now Honda has built even more new features onto its 2018 version of the truck. For example, its bed is among the largest in its class, since it’s wider than most. The truck bed has its own audio system and a drain plug that allows you to use the bed as a cooler. Even the cab of the truck offers lots of space, showing that Honda put a lot of thought into both the interior and the bed of this truck.

2018 Jeep Wrangler Pickup

If you like the average Jeep, you’ll like the Jeep Wrangler Pickup that’s coming in 2018. It will have aluminum doors and hood panels to make it lighter and boost its fuel economy. Not much else is known about it yet since it won’t be released until later in 2018, but it’s supposed to look and feel rugged like most Wranglers, yet it’ll be as practical as the typical pickup truck.

Tesla Model U

Tesla’s goal is to get its first pickup truck on the road sometime in 2018. Though not all the details are out yet, Tesla officials have said it will be a heavy-duty truck, similar to the Ford F-150. It will probably have a double cab and rugged tires, and of course it will be all electric and therefore ecofriendly.

2018 Hyundai Santa Cruz

Another cool truck you’ll see in 2018 is the Hyundai Santa Cruz, which is more of a stylish, sleek vehicle than a heavy-duty work truck. In fact, it will be marketed toward car owners who are new to the world of trucks. The truck bed will be midsize and the body should be perfect for towing. The 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine will have at least 200 hp. But it’s the luxurious interior that will stand out, with all the latest gadgets on the dashboard and a low-to-the-ground seat position that will make drivers feel like they’re operating a car, not a midsize truck.

2018 Nissan Frontier

The 2018 model will see some big changes, starting with a better suspension system. There will also be plenty of options to choose from, such as three transmission types: manual, manual 6-speed, and automatic. You can upgrade from a 4-cylinder engine to a V6, as well. The cab itself will offer a rearview camera, Bluetooth, a 5-inch screen, satellite radio, and an improved security system—and all will be considered standard features rather than upgrades.

black 4x4 four door pickup with large knobby tires

No matter which of the coolest trucks of 2018 you end up with, make sure you get an estimate for auto insurance before you make your purchase. It’s important to ensure you get sufficient coverage that will take care of your expenses after a car accident, and getting an insurance estimate for each truck you’re interested in buying will help you determine which vehicle you can most afford.
